WeThinkCode_ recruits young people that show a high aptitude for a career in software development. We specifically focus on offering opportunities to youth with no prior coding experience.
WeThinkCode_ trains youth in South Africa to be world-class software developers that are equipped with market-relevant programming skills, and work readiness competencies built up through the dynamic learning environment.
The aim is to ensure that graduates leave WeThinkCode_ with a job and an accredited qualification in systems development. WeThinkCode_ has placed 91% of its graduates in permanent employment.
Bridging the skills gap_
WeThinkCode_ is a software development training academy addressing the technical skills shortage in South Africa, and curbing youth unemployment. Our mission is to recruit the sharpest young minds and equip them with the skills to become workplace-ready software developers.
Using our homegrown curriculum and inhouse developed learning management system (LMS), we are able to take students with no prior coding experience and turn them into ready work ready software developers, with a strong foundation in backend development, in 16 months.
WeThinkCode_ has provided us with invaluable access to a diverse pool of exceptional individuals. It has eliminated the challenges we faced in sourcing and selecting talent. By doubling their cohort from 2020 to 2021, they significantly contributed to our achievement of hiring goals. The outstanding results we witnessed in 2022 are a testament to their capabilities.
I really do think the power of the programme is the fact that support for youth from low-income backgrounds is built in throughout the programme.
